2009 is almost gone and we are all looking forward to a better 2010 but there are 3 things I think will guarantee anybody's success in 2010 and they are:

1.Your perception of yourself.

2.The people you move with.

3.The books you read.

Let me start with your perception of yourself.

1.Your perception of yourself.

First of all,let me ask you, what image of yourself do you have fixed in your mind? Is it the image of a poor guy struggling to succeed or the image of a rich guy who is in control of his destiny? You see,you will never be able to exceed the image you have of yourself. That is why I always emphasise changing our thought pattern if we are to succeed beyond our wildest imagination.I know we all grew up with certain values and thought patterns but if we are to succeed in the new year,it musn't be business as usual. In fact,we should war against all poor thought patterns and self image. There should be no option for us if our goal is to strike it rich in 2010.Be ruthless with your thought patterns, force them to conform with your new image of YOU.

As you read this, stop seeing yourself as a poor worker, start seeing yourself as an employer with several workers at your beck and call. You may have been born into a poor home,it doesn't matter, you may have had an abusive childhood,it also doesn't matter. All that matters is your ability to change your self image. And it is your personal responsibility. No wonder the legend, late Jim Rohn says:"You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of.

2.The people you move with.

A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.

“Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget."

A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words

A friend is one who believes in you when you have ceased to believe in yourself.

Tell me what company thou keepst, and I'll tell thee what thou art.

- Miguel de Cervantes (1547 - 1616)

My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me.

Henry Ford

What kind of friends do you keep? You see,I have a very strict policy when it comes to making friends.Any friend who does not contribute to my good, who does not encourage me to aim high is not going to enjoy my friendship. You see, life is too short for you to hang out with unproductive friends who have nothing good to offer you.

3.The books you read.

I have one habit,I don't know whether to call it good or bad.I buy books like crazy. My house is like a library because I know the value of good books. If you are not a reader, please note that you cannot lead because readers are leaders. And so do the philosophers whose quote are published below:

Far more seemly were it for thee to have thy study full of books, than thy purse full of money - John Lyly

The wise man reads both books and life itself.- Lin Yutang

It is what you read when you don't have to that determines what you will be when you can't help it. - Oscar Wilde

The smallest bookstore still contains more ideas of worth than have been presented in the entire history of television. -Andrew Ross

Good friends, good books and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life. -Mark Twain

"Tell me what you read and I'll tell you who you are" is true enough, but I'd know you better if you told me what you reread. - François Mauriac
